Cattle Exhibition
Einsiedeln is still a rural area where dairy farming prevails. Competing with others is part of the human nature and so it comes as no surprise that every farmer wants to have the most beautiful cow in his barn. The cattle exhibition which takes place in autumn, after the cows have returned from their stay on the alp, settles the dispute. It takes place on Tuesday before September 29 (St Michael) on the large meadow next to abbey where the car park is underneath. The "Stierenmusik" (Bulls Band) plays for entertainment and dancing.
The schedule is as follows:
- 9:00 a.m.: Begin of the exhibition
- 13:30 p.m.: Awarding ceremony
- 2:00 p.m.: March of the adorned cattle through the town
